Yay! Back to a newborn streak! I love love love newborn photography. They are probably the most difficult to photograph of all the age groups but there is something about them but they just make me over the moon happy! I had the opportunity to photograph 9 day old Baby Audrey and boy was she amazing!! She did nothing but sleep the entire session and let me play and play with her. Her big brother was a little hesitant about being photographed but after a lot of patience (LOTS!), he finally agreed to lie down next to her and then we got this shot. Sweetest sibling photo ever!

Time for another edition of Life by Lens! This is a fun project that I am participating in with a wonderful group of photographers where our goal each month is to document our everyday lives.

My goal this month was to get some nice portraits of the boys and then when we went out and tried, I was quickly reminded why I avoid it at all costs! We ended up with a couple of keepers and a lot of crying. Why don’t they understand how much they’ll appreciate this one day! I promise next month will be back to our normal everyday photos, I’ll only traumatize them a few times a year.

We are so lucky to be so close to the beach! Say the word and we pack up a few things and off we go!

And a big happy birthday to the love of my life! I had to disturb his little slumber on the shore to get a photo of him with the kids. And now I don’t have to wonder where the boys got their dislike of getting their photos taken…ahem!

One of the many thing that makes photographing babies so much fun and exciting is getting to see them again and see how much they’ve grown. That’s why I need to demand that all my clients need to book the baby planner package! I’ve photographed Miss Abby since she was 9 days old and so excited to see her again at 17 months old. She is already developing a fun personality and I had a great time photographing her and her parents. Babies this age are not the easiest but I love the challenge of getting them to smile and look at the camera. She completely wore me out in the end but I think it was completely worth it! Now her parents have these beautiful memories captured and cherished.

I’ve been trying out a lot of different things recently and love that photography can touch so many different people! Megan used to nanny for us and I was sad when her school schedule wouldn’t work for us anymore. She did such an amazing job watching the boys while I was at work. I never had to worry when she was there. We’ve kept in touch through Facebook and when her long time boyfriend, Dexter proposed to her, she immediately contacted me to ask if I could do their engagement session! I was a little surprised but I love trying new things and they had a wonderful idea of having it at Walt Disney World where they are pass members and go every opportunity they can get! We drove out to Orlando on a beautiful afternoon and made our way through the park, stopping to take photos at the stairs, Main St USA, Cinderella’s castle, neat architectural elements that makes Disney shine, the carousel, and Mad Hatter’s Tea Party ride. I had an amazing time capturing such a happy time in their lives at the happiest place on earth! Thank you Megan and Dexter for choosing me to capture your engagement session!

If I was able to go back to a time period and do it over again, it would have to be the baby’s first year. It goes by way to fast. You blink and they go from a fresh newborn to a toddler. I am so honored to be chosen to document baby’s milestones throughout the first year. I can’t believe it was a year ago since I came over to Mr. Connor’s house to photograph his newborn photos. His 6 month session had to be one of my favorite sessions, nothing but smiles the entire time. His cake smash was no different! He is seriously just the happiest baby!

When Gigi’s mom approached me and asked about taking some senior photos for her, I was a little hesitant because of not having any experience with subjects who can speak full sentences and actually follow directions but after a little bit of convincing, I said yes and the rest was history! Gigi brought along her best friend, Bailey so they could get some photos together as well as some of her by herself for her announcements. I am so happy how these turned out! They made my job so easy though! Seriously, drop dead gorgeous, smart, beautiful lighting, and they were naturals in front of the camera! Congratulations Gigi and Bailey, HB Plant High School Class of 2014!!

Life by lens is a project that I am participating in with a wonderful group of photographers where our goal each month is to document our everyday lives through our lens.

This month started with blueberry picking! We found a farm 15 minutes from our house called BlueYouth Farms. We had so much fun picking them, we went twice! Two weekends in a row! I’m pretty sure we got enough blueberries to feed an army!

Then we just put our feet up and try to relax because the rest of the month was quite busy!

Someone finally got a visit from the Tooth Fairy this month! I was told afterwards that the Tooth Fairy was very generous this time and that next time around she may not be!

We traveled down to Miami to be a part of my cousin’s wedding and had a fabulous time at the resort! We definitely will be visiting this resort again! Such a beautiful city!

Got some shots of them in their dressed up outfits! Not cooperating, but what’s new?

I didn’t get to take many photos from the wedding because I was in the bridal party but I did sneak in a few here and there. I’ll definitely be blogging the photos when I’m done editing all of them! One of my favorites from the evening!

When mom contacted me for photos of her sweet daughter who was turning one, she was already prepared with some really adorable outfits for her. Miss Ellie rocked out each one and did so amazing in front of the camera. She is one adorable little one year old! I loved photographing her cake smash and taking them outside for some family photos. So many favorites from her session!

Ellie’s mom also made this beautiful hot pink cake!

What is it about newborn photography that I love so much? Are you ready for some newborn photos from one of my favorite newborn sessions to date? Mr. Leo was a beautiful little chunker with a head full of black hair. If his parents and big brother weren’t so smitten with their new little baby boy, I would have asked to take him home with me! My boys would love him! Well, of course I couldn’t so I just had to enjoy every little second of photographing him. He was a dream and slept through the entire session without making as much as a peep.
