I’ve been so lucky so far to have so many good babies who just sleep though their session and let me do my work. Six week old Romy was no exception! She defied all odds and I was able to get an entire gallery of sleep newborn type shots AND in record time. Very rare for a newborn over 2-3 weeks old! She was so perfect! Perfectly content, relaxed, sweet, and oh so adorable! It’s always an honor for me be chosen to photograph something as cherished as these sweet newborns. Please enjoy some of my favorites from her session!

Summer has flown by and it’s another month for my Life by Lens blog post. I hope everyone has been enjoying these posts because I really love putting it all together. It helps that I have so many wonderful photographers in the circle that motivate and inspire me. So don’t forget to click on the link at the end to see what we are all up to this month!
My little boy is growing up before my eyes. I still remember those sleepless nights when he was a newborn, the excitement of him rolling over for the first time, taking his first steps, his first words (I can’t believe we were ever worried about his speech!), lots and lots of firsts that we were excited about. I never thought I would be THAT mom though, you know the one that will be bawling when she drops off her first born off at Kindergarten? It’s such a huge deal though. Isn’t it? Next thing you know, he’s going to middle school, then high school, getting his license, graduating, going off to college, getting married, having kids of his own, and and and… What? I’m losing it? But it’s Kindergarten people! Where he will be learning reading, writing, and arithmetic, bringing home homework, making new friends, tying his own shoes, buying his own lunch and bringing it to the table all by himself!
Brandon is such a wonderful kid and I know he make our family proud each and every step of the way. Those tears when I take him to his classroom will only be tears of joy because I can’t believe what an intelligent, independent, funny, considerate, and sweet boy he has become over the last five years.
So of course I had to take him out to make sure I document this important milestone in his life. Just look at my handsome boy, ready to venture into the big world!
(Thank you Grandma for the adorable blazer! I knew it would come in handy one day!)
Next up is the wonderful Sherri from Sherri Kelly Photography! I love that she’s in town and we can meet up and talk photography!
Baby Ava brought nothing but cuteness and smiles for her second session with me! She developed a slew of new skills too since last time! She sits up like a champ, rolls over, babbles, and on the verge of crawling. And don’t you just love the adorable dimple? I am looking forward to seeing her again in December for her one year session! I am incredibly honored to be chosen to capture her first year. It can’t get any better than this!
It just amazes me how fast the first year of a baby goes by but I just love seeing my babies change throughout their first year. I photographed Elle when she was just 7 days old, she was just a tiny peanut, again at 9 months and now she came back for her cake smash session. I thought her 9 month session was tough, boy was I wrong! She was so mobile and had her own agenda, just wandering and exploring around the studio with zero interest in taking photos. We managed to get a full gallery of her smiling and having a grand ole time running circles around us! And lucky for us, the rain stopped and the sun was shining just before the session and we were able to take some photos outside. Elle is also going to be a big sister in November! I can’t wait to photograph her baby sister when she arrives! Thank you G Family for choosing me to photograph Elle’s first year and your growing family!
I had a pretty special newborn session with baby Michael. We started out with some traditional posed photos of him, where he decided to soak me with a really powerful stream! Mom scheduled the session while both sides of grandparents were there visiting and we able to get photos with each grandparent. The last part of the session was a lifestyle session with his parents, something that is becoming one of my favorite types of photos. It was just them, not posed, doing things that they normally do, and the challenge for me is to find the best light to capture it all. I was so happy to deliver such a diverse gallery for them to have. Thank so much H Family for choosing me to photograph your new family!
What an adorable, chubby little newborn Miss Aivy was. She was just a perfect little baby, baby soft skin, sweet little doll face, and slept like a dream! I enjoyed every snuggle and feeding I had with her in between posing her for her photo session.
Baby Aivy is definitely welcomed into this world by two very loving parents, who just adore their new little girl. Please enjoy some of my favorite photos from her newborn session.
I can’t believe it’s been a month since my last blog circle post. This year has definitely flown by! If you have been following my blog for the last few months, you know that I’m a part of a monthly blog circle project with a group of crazy talented photographers where we try to document things in a different way than we normally would. At the end of my blog post, you can view the next photographer’s post and so on and so on until you’ve come full circle!
Remember I said that my boys never cooperate for any posed photos? Ever? It’s true, they never have…until…a miracle happened few weeks ago. I actually got a couple of photos of their sweet smiling faces! Who are these kids? It didn’t last very long and I had to be quick but I am so happy with these photos. All kidding aside, my boys are growing up way too fast. Brandon is starting Kindergarten in less than a month and my little baby is no longer a baby. And quoting my favorite book that makes me cry every time I read it to the boys:
“I’ll love you forever,
I’ll like you for always,
As long as I’m living,
My baby you’ll be.”
The ONLY reason I picked up my camera and started this photography journey in the first place, to capture their innocence and the essence of their youth, something that I know will change before I know it. I hope they thank me one day!! I know I wish I had more photos of me when I was young, I can probably count the number of photos I have of me under the age of 5 on the fingers of one hand.
I don’t know about you but I think he’s pretty darn handsome!
And no photoshoot is ever complete without my oldest being a complete goofball! There is not a day that goes by that he doesn’t put a smile on my face though.

Mom contacted me when Miss Chelsea was 5 weeks old and she wanted some photos of her new baby. She was weeks out of the magic window for those sleepy newborn photos but I told mom I was going to try anyway because she had missed out on those. And I am so glad I tried! Miss Chelsea was 8 weeks old by the time I was able to come take photos of her but she slept as well as some of my newborns! It didn’t last as long but we worked fast and got some really lovely peaceful dreamy photos of her. And when she woke up, she was full of smiles and gave me amazing eye contact! Meet 8 week old beautiful Chelsea. She is too cute for words and perfect in every way!
The H. Family is growing! In July they will welcome a baby boy into their hectic life with a 1 year old. Miss Emily was quite the little model for me. She cooperated so well for being this age giving me eye contact and so many adorable smiles! I had such a great time photographing this family at Philippe Park in Safety Harbor and cannot wait to meet their new addition in a few months!
