What is it about newborn photography that I love so much? Are you ready for some newborn photos from one of my favorite newborn sessions to date? Mr. Leo was a beautiful little chunker with a head full of black hair. If his parents and big brother weren’t so smitten with their new little baby boy, I would have asked to take him home with me! My boys would love him! Well, of course I couldn’t so I just had to enjoy every little second of photographing him. He was a dream and slept through the entire session without making as much as a peep.
I am completely obsessed with babies, not a big secret I’m sure. I had the opportunity to photograph 7 month old McKenna back in January and I could not be any more excited. She has the most beautiful eyes and seriously, the cutest little face. I wasn’t the only one swooning over her adorableness though! We were at Lettuce Lake Park and everyone wanted to take some photographs of her! Such a popular little baby! Here are some of my favorites!
It’s no big secret I am in love with newborns. I was fortunate enough to photograph sweet 7 day old Addison. I’m sure we all are made aware of the sleep deprivation that comes along with a brand new baby. Poor little Addison couldn’t get any sleep the night before and her poor exhausted parents obviously didn’t either. We thought she would be so tired and sleep the entire session but nope, Miss Addison was quite happy being awake and observing her new environment outside the womb. She eventually drifted off to dreamland and stayed asleep the rest of the session. Here are some of my favorites from her newborn session!

Josie’s mom booked the newborn session a few months before she arrived. We were both very excited and preparing for her arrival and I could not wait to cuddle with a fresh little newborn! Right after she was born, I came down with the flu, yup, the one where I was bedbound for 3 straight days, aches, pains, headaches, fevers, chills, you name it, I felt it. There was no way I was going to be able to shoot her newborn photos at day 7 as planned. By the time I was fully recovered, she was 13 days old, just at the cut off for sleepy newborn photos and she was a complete rockstar! She slept the entire time and was my quickest newborn session to date! So many gorgeous photos of a beautiful little lady with a head full of hair. I am so sad to hear that Josie’s parents moved back to Texas to be closer to family earlier this month. I would have loved to see her grow through my lens!
I don’t want to be too sappy but Miss Ava graduated from my baby plan with her one year session this past December and I am so sad I won’t be able to see her regularly anymore! I have enjoyed watching her grow into an active, happy, and beautiful little toddler! We started the session with a few holiday themed photos since she is a little Christmas Eve baby and have her smash her cake after. We also were able to go outside and get some family photos. Thank you so much to the Q Family for choosing me to capture Ava’s first year!
I know I say this all the time but I truly feel like the luckiest newborn photographer to have been photographing the most beautiful newborns. What’s even better is that I get to watch this particular newborn grow up through my lens. I am so excited to introduce Baby Charlie to the Nghi Le Photography family. I can’t wait to watch him grow throughout his first year. Mr. Charlie was such an alert little guy, wanted to fight sleep, and wanted to observe everything. Took advantage of his curiosity and caught one of him and his big brother with such amazing eye contact, pure luck, I’m sure of it! He did finally doze off and did beautifully the rest of the session! Looking forward to seeing these brothers again in a few months!
What can I say about this wonderful family? Well, they have stuck with me since the beginning and continue to think of me when they need photos of their adorable kids. I’ve been photographing Miss Ava since she was 7 months old and watched their family grow right before my eyes. Here are some of my favorites from their holiday family session!
I know mom doesn’t like this photo of her two year old closing her eyes on purpose but I think it’s perfect. I love that she’s full of personality and sass already! But we were finally able to get some smiling photos for mom in the end.
Kerrie is a local photographer in the Tampa area. We met some time last year after talking online and we’ve become great friends. We are so similar and have the same serious love for newborns. Photographers are the worst at planning their own family sessions, I was able to squeeze her in last minute and she was able to pull together such a perfect palette of coordinating outfits!
Miss Ava Hope belongs to one of my best friends in the whole world. I was so sad when they moved a couple of hours away from me a few years ago but so happy that they welcomed a beautiful baby girl into their lives a year ago. She is made purely of sugar and spice. And I think we may have some love brewing between my three year old and Miss Ava! He gave her a big wet kiss after we said goodbye after dinner and said he loved her when I was editing one of her photos. She is one tough cookie to get smiles out of though, but we managed to get some cute photos for her parents!
I’ve been on an awesome newborn streak the last few months and I could not be any happier. Newborns are my calling. They make my heart sing. They turn me into a big puddle of mush. And I just want to keep all these babies I get to cuddle with all to myself. Seven day old Lily could not be any more perfect. I photographed her big sister’s first year and I just know they are going to be the best of friends.
