Summer has flown by and it’s another month for my Life by Lens blog post. I hope everyone has been enjoying these posts because I really love putting it all together. It helps that I have so many wonderful photographers in the circle that motivate and inspire me. So don’t forget to click on the link at the end to see what we are all up to this month!
My little boy is growing up before my eyes. I still remember those sleepless nights when he was a newborn, the excitement of him rolling over for the first time, taking his first steps, his first words (I can’t believe we were ever worried about his speech!), lots and lots of firsts that we were excited about. I never thought I would be THAT mom though, you know the one that will be bawling when she drops off her first born off at Kindergarten? It’s such a huge deal though. Isn’t it? Next thing you know, he’s going to middle school, then high school, getting his license, graduating, going off to college, getting married, having kids of his own, and and and… What? I’m losing it? But it’s Kindergarten people! Where he will be learning reading, writing, and arithmetic, bringing home homework, making new friends, tying his own shoes, buying his own lunch and bringing it to the table all by himself!
Brandon is such a wonderful kid and I know he make our family proud each and every step of the way. Those tears when I take him to his classroom will only be tears of joy because I can’t believe what an intelligent, independent, funny, considerate, and sweet boy he has become over the last five years.
So of course I had to take him out to make sure I document this important milestone in his life. Just look at my handsome boy, ready to venture into the big world!
(Thank you Grandma for the adorable blazer! I knew it would come in handy one day!)
Next up is the wonderful Sherri from Sherri Kelly Photography! I love that she’s in town and we can meet up and talk photography!

Nghi, I am totally loving this back to school session you did with Brandon!! and if you want to know all about the other stuff — high school, graduation, leaving home….I have one that is doing all of that. It doesn’t get any easier. But you have many many years before all of that. ENJOY EVERY MOMENT of this time in their childhood. Brandon is just adorable! Love that first one with the books and apple!

My oldest went to kindergarten last year, and it was SOOO hard for me to let go (the fact that I had a 2 week old, and was a ball of hormones did not help) but she has a BLAST!!!!

What a handsome young man! I love the props and styling. And Nghi, this momma is with you on the tears. Didn’t think I would be like that either. I guess we never realize how much our babies are going to steal our hearts.
